What is a new build defect?

A defect is a fault in the workmanship and construction of a new build property, or a fault in the installation or manufacturing of items and equipment which form part of the construction.

The most common defects are faulty:

• waste pipes (leaks)
• heating or hot water
• toilets (excluding blockages)
• aerial signal 
• doors 
• extractor fans 
• lights and electrical fittings
