How long is the new builds defects liability period?

Your defect liability period (DLP) lasts between 12 and 24 months – depending on the contract.

During this time, the builder will attend to genuine defects which occur within your property and the surrounding communal areas.

Please be aware that the DLP starts when the builder hands over the property to L&Q and not from when you buy the property.
