My heating and hot water are switched off, why am I still being charged?

You may notice that you've been charged during times when you have not used heating and hot water. This is to be expected as the amount you are charged is separated into two categories, usage and daily standing charge.

The standing charge is applied every day, regardless of whether or not you use your heating or hot water. This contributes to the running of the system and allow us to ensure your equipment is serviced and repaired when necessary.
