How long does a mutual exchange take?

We will contact you within 42 days of receiving your completed request form to notify you if the mutual exchange can go ahead.

If you'd like to check a decision within this period, you will be asked to call back after the 42 days.

During the 42 days, we'll need to get a reference from the other resident's landlord and provide a reference about your tenancy to them. We will also need to do an inspection of your home, including an electrical test.

You will need to agree to any work that needs doing before the exchange can go ahead.

Please be aware that if you swap homes without permission or after permission has been refused, you will be expected to move back into your original home.
