I can smell gas. What should I do?

If you smell gas, please exit your property and call the National Gas Emergency for free on 0800 111 999.

You should also:

• turn off any gas burners
• turn off the gas at the meter if you can
• open all windows and doors
• avoid naked flames or smoking
• avoid switching lights on or off
• avoid using any electrical appliances
• ensure all children and pets are safe
• contact a qualified gas engineer to inspect your property
