Can I keep a pet?
Whether or not you can keep a pet in your property depends on the terms set out in your tenancy agreement and the type of pet you plan on keeping.
Unless your tenancy agreement states otherwise, you can keep small animals that are housed in tanks, bowls and cages inside the home without seeking permission. However, you will need to request permission to keep an inside cat.
Likewise, if you live in a property that has direct access to a private garden you may keep a dog, an outside cat, or any pets housed in small hutches, without seeking permission.
In cases where it is not necessary to ask for permission you must still register the pet with us.
